Alley of Heroes

Alley to the Heroes of the Soviet Union is an alley in Kremenchuk, in the Oleg Babaev Park. It commemorates the Heroes of the Soviet Union who were born or lived in Kremenchuk.

The alley is made of granite and is placed in a semicircle behind the Monument to the Liberator. In the center is a plate with an inscription of an extract from the order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of September 29, 1943 on assigning the name Kremenchuk 7th to military formations and units:

• 6th Guards Airborne Division (USSR)

• 214th Kremenchug Rifle Division

• 233rd Kremenchug Rifle Division

• 219th Kremenchug tank brigade

• 469th Kremenchug mortar regiment

• 308th Kremenchug mortar regiment

• 1902 Kremenchug self-propelled artillery regiment

as well as the 97th Guards Poltava Rifle Division, which distinguished itself in battle for the second time and was awarded the Order of the Red Banner.

To the left and to the right of her, 9 portraits of Kremenchug residents - Heroes of the Soviet Union - are engraved on the granite.
