Pedagogical Memorial Museum of Anton Semenovich Makarenko is a house-museum of the teacher Anton Makarenko in Kremenchuk.
History
The museum was opened in 1951, in his parents' house, where Anton Makarenko lived in 1905-1911, 1917-1919. It was the first museum named after a teacher in the USSR.
In 1976, a memorial plaque was unveiled on the museum building.
Modernity
In March 2008, the museum was robbed. 1659 exhibits were stolen. According to the data, the case of a gold watch, awards, and books from the teacher's personal library were stolen.
In 2007, a project of a 200 square meter exhibition hall was created - they were going to move all the exhibits there, and leave the building as it was. But later this idea was abandoned.
After the renovation, on November 21, 2011, gas heating appeared in the museum. The premises were renovated both externally (whitewashed) and internally. 79 thousand hryvnias were spent on repairs.
Funds and exhibits
Currently, the Makarenko Museum has 34,000 exhibits. Among them are Makarenko's personal belongings, his parents' furniture and books. Many of the exhibits are presented for the first time. These are chess, glasses, bugle, and violin. The greatest value is the metric and photo of Makarenko's arrival in 1937.
